Piraeus is one of the largest cities in Greece and a municipality within the urban area of Athens. Piraeus is the main port in Athens, accommodating around 20 million passengers every year, and just quick metro ride of about 20 minutes to the Athens city center (Syntagma Square).
Piraeus is one of the most important and ancient ports in the Mediterranean, offering many things to explore. Located around 12 km southwest of the Athens city center and 45 km from the Eleftherios Venizelos Athens International Airport, Piraeus is the gateway to the Greek islands and the landing point for cruises to Athens.
